Derry City and Strabane District Council - Spring Forward Events Programme
Overview
The grant aid programme is open to community organisations, businesses organisations, charities, social enterprises, and religious groups. They welcome applications from events of all sizes and purposes, as long as they are open to the public and benefit the business community in some way. Only in Sperrin or Derg electoral areas.
They understand the importance of events in driving business growth and community development, and they want to help businesses and communities thrive by providing financial support for their events. The grant aid programme is designed to cover a range of event-related expenses, including venue rental, marketing and advertising, animation, Live Music, hire of third party services i.e. first aid, event management company etc.
The grant aid programme was established in recognition of the potential contribution that events can make to the following key priorities and objectives as per the Sperrin~Derg Action Plan, which prioritises the following:
Priority 1: Support residents into work and training
Objective: To support new business start-ups within the Sperrin~DEA’s
Priority 2: Business and Employment Growth
Objective: Support businesses in Sperrin~Derg DEA’s
Priority 3: Community & Public Events
Objective: Support Community & Develop Community Pride
The fund details
• There will be one round of funding for the 2022/23 financial year.
• You can apply for grant aid up to a maximum of £2,000.
• The total grant amount can make up 100% of the total event cost.
• A threshold score of 50% must be reached in order to be eligible.
• You can apply for any amount up to a maximum of £2,000 in the financial year. However, only one successful application (regardless of amount) can be held by any group in the current 2022/2023 financial year.
• The fund will cover costs such as Activities, Marketing, Live Music, hire of third party services i.e. first aid, event management company. Direct salaries will not be covered under this programme
• Your festival/event should be something that not only benefits your community but should also benefit the local business community and is aligned to the Sperrin~Derg priorities and objectives detailed above.
• You will be required to submit a Risk Assessment to Derry City and Strabane District Council prior to the festival/event taking place.
