Overview

On the night of the Awards shortlisted candidates will all receive a framed certificate and the winner in each category will be presented with a trophy.

Award Categories

Impact Awards

For 2021, there were 3 award sub-categories within the Impact Awards:

  • Small Organisations
    • This category is open to all independently governed and constituted community, voluntary or charitable organisations with no paid staff.
  • Medium-sized Organisations
    • This category is open to organisations with paid staff and annual turnover of up to €1 million. All entrants in this category must be registered with the Charities Regulator.
  • Large Organisations (with paid staff and annual turnover over €1 million)
    • This category is open to organisations with paid staff and annual turnover of over €1 million. All entrants in this category must be registered with the Charities Regulator.

 

 

All three winning entries (small, medium & large) will win a €1,000 prize each. Note: prizes are awarded to organisations, rather than individuals.

Social Enterprise of the Year Award

Recognising nonprofit business innovation in communities across Ireland.

Trustee of the Year Award

Recognising trustees who have gone above the call of duty.

Community Hero Award

Celebrating a lifetime of local commitment and positive action.

Mary Redmond Award

The Mary Redmond Honorary Award is named after Dr Mary Redmond, the late academic, lawyer and founder of The Wheel. It will honour an individual or group who has contributed in an exceptional way to the advancement of the community and voluntary sector.
