Overview

The Ulster Bank Community Fund is administered by The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and The Community Foundation for Ireland.

What will the Fund support?

1. Community Enterprise

This category will support projects that:

  • Increase local entrepreneurship

  • Enable social enterprise in communities

through education programmes, confidence building and/or skill development activities.

2. Financial Literacy

This category will support projects which increase the financial capability of individuals and groups through the provision of financial education/ literacy workshops, services or support. It will also support financial inclusion projects aimed at improving access to financial services for those who face barriers in accessing such services.

3. Employability

Schemes or initiatives designed to help individuals who are not currently in training, full-time education or employment. This category will support projects which promote their

participant’s capability for gaining and maintaining meaningful employment or progression into further education through the development of key skills. These may include:

  • Pre-employment skill training, especially for those facing barriers to employment, allowing participants develop the skills, confidence and motivation to gain initial employment and the ability to maintain employment

  • Programmes which develop the skills of participants so that they have the ability to manage their own employment transitions

  • Adult education initiatives furthering skills required to access further education or gain employment

Who can apply?

Constituted non- profit, voluntary and community based organisations and social enterprises based and working within Northern Ireland

Local branches of larger national charitable organisations working within Northern Ireland

Amount of funding available

Grants available will vary in value from £1,000 up to £35,000.
