RHS: Gardens for Good Causes
Overview
Project Giving Back
Project Giving Back offers UK charities and other UK-registered not-for-profit organisations the opportunity to exhibit a fully-funded show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and financial support to relocate the garden to a permanent location after the show. Conceived in January 2021 by two anonymous RHS Life Members, Project Giving Back is designed to help good causes raise awareness of their work and increase their fundraising potential following the pandemic.
Open to charities of all sizes - from local causes to UK-wide institutions - Project Giving Back provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for exposure at one of the UK's best loved events.

All About PlantsĀ
Introduced at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 202, this is open to designers who are passionate about unusual and rare plants, nurseries, plant societies and botanic gardens, with a vision that focuses on great planting combinations for a good cause. Designers in this category are encouraged to submit concepts and designs that are at least 80% planted and should note that excavations are not possible for this category's site at the show. Applications for 2026 garden funding are now closed.
- You can apply for a fully-funded PGB grant or a match-funded grant.
- For fully-funded grants, PGB would be the only sponsor of your garden and cover the cost of creating the show garden.
- For match-funded grants, PGB would co-sponsor your garden and cover up to 50% of the cost of creating the show garden with another organisation or individual.
- This co-funder should be confirmed at the time of applying to PGB for match-funding.

Show Gardens
Project Giving Back welcomes applications from designers who have previous show garden experience either at RHS Chelsea or at another RHS flower show, depending on size of garden applied for. Working with a UK registered charity, the garden should tell a strong and engaging story about the cause.
Designers must be keen to collaborate with a UK registered charity to create a garden that not only showcases excellent design but also tells a compelling story about a cause to help raise awareness and fulfil its objectives.
The size of garden allocated usually depends on the experience and aspirations of the team and can range in size from a smaller 10mx12m site to the larger 10mx20m sites on Main Avenue.
The show garden category is open to both established designers with previous Chelsea experience, and up and coming designers who have exhibited at other RHS shows and are now keen to take on the challenge of Chelsea. Applications for 2026 garden funding are now closed
