Overview

They support a broad range of UK-based projects and activities of benefit to the General Public, with an emphasis on promoting better understanding of the environment and countryside, whilst facilitating improved access, education and research

They promote:

The Trustees shall endeavour to support proposals that meet the following aims and that are for the benefit of the public or relevant charitable bodies.

  1. The health, welfare and education of the general public
  2. The study and appreciation of agriculture, silviculture, ecology and land management
  3. The study and appreciation of land and estate management that encourages conservation of the countryside.

Funding Criteria

  • Charitable funding proposals should address the Objectives of the Nineveh Charitable Trust
  • They prefer to pay grants to UK registered charities or Community Interest Companies
  • But individual applicants may be considered if the outcome benefits are clearly defined

For details of grants awarded visit the website here.

Whilst the Trust does not specify a minimum or maximum grant amount that can be applied for, an analysis of previous grants would suggest grants range from a few hundred up to around £6,000.

They want to know

In your applications, be sure to state answers to the following:

  • How much you want.
  • What the money is going to be used for (e.g. provide a breakdown).
  • Methodologies (e.g. of a field study; how the data will be measured).
  • Successful outcome indicators (e.g. please specify up to 3 measures that will demonstrate the success of your project)
  • What the benefit will be, not only to your organisation but thinking about the wider world.
  • How your target will support their aims.

Please Note: They are not faith-based and are open to applicants of all diversities. They have no connection with three faith-based charities of similar name which were registered with the Charity Commission and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator subsequently (namely, the Nineveh Trusts: RCN292545 registered 1985, RCN 1044709 registered 1995, and SC038029 registered 2007).
