Overview

The QBE Foundation, part of QBE Insurance Group's corporate responsibility programmes, partners with like-minded charities to build strong, sustainable and inclusive communities that have a positive impact on QBE's people, customers and broker partners.

Objectives of Fund

The Foundation offers grants to registered charities to support meaningful community initiatives addressing specific areas of need which align to the Foundation's insurance company.

The current key focus areas are climate resilience and inclusion, with a focus on the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 1: No Poverty
  • SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities
  • SDG 13: Climate Action

Funding Level

Grants of up to £25,000 are available.

Eligibility

  • Must be registered with the UK’s Charity Commission.
  • Must align with the key focus areas.
  • Must be based in the UK.

Eligible Expenditure

The Foundation provides grants for projects that align with its objectives:

  • Climate resilience:

    • Building understanding of the physical and financial risks due to climate change and associated mitigation options.
    • Increasing capacity to prepare and respond.
    • Innovative solutions that help the transition to a low carbon economy.
  • Inclusion:

    • Greater equality and inclusion.
    • Developing skills through training and mentoring.
    • Providing access to tools and services that support financial inclusion.
