Overview

Community Support Grant Aid is primarily targeted at local community development groups and community support organisations who directly address community development issues throughout the district.

Arts and Cultural Development Grants

Omagh District Council acknowledges and values the quality and quantity of work which is being done within its district in the fields of arts and culture, by voluntary organisations and individuals. The Council recognises that this work makes a valuable contribution to the enrichment of communal and individual life within the area and makes a major contribution to the promotion of a very positive image of the area to the outside world. Omagh District Council wishes to support and help develop this work

A maximum of £500 available per application is available for Arts and Cultural Development Grants.

Advertisements will be placed in local papers at the beginning of March and September of each year inviting applications for grant aid with notice of closing dates.

Community Festivals

Omagh District Council also wishes to support the development of a wide range of Festivals within the Omagh District Council area which project a positive image of the area to the wider community.

Community Support

Community Support Grant Aid is primarily targeted at local community development groups and community support organisations who directly address community development issues throughout the district.

Calls for applications for this fund willhappen in March of each year inviting applications for grant aid with notice of closing dates.

Good Relations

The grant aid scheme is open to a wide range of locally based groups, such as women's groups, church groups, organisations and groups involved in Good Relations. The scheme is aimed primarily at adults; youth groups should apply in the first instance to the Western Education and Library Board for assistance.

Christmas Lights

Funding is available to voluntary community organisations towards the cost of providing Christmas Lights in towns/villages and hamlets throughout the district.

Christmas Celebrations

Funding available to voluntary community groups towards the cost of organizing Christmas Celebrations activities throughout the district.

Calls for applications for this fund will happen in September of each year inviting applications for grant aid with notice of closing dates.

Rural Summer Schemes

Funding available to voluntary community groups towards the cost of community based Summer Schemes in rural areas throughout the district. The programme should offer a wide range of social, recreational and educational activities appropriate to the ages and stages of development of children/young people involved. The group shall ensure that it actively promotes equality of opportunity for children and young people, regardless of ability, culture, gender, race or religion. The activities should offer equal opportunity and choice to all participants and should cater for children/young people within the 5 – 14 year old age range.

Capital Grants

Capital grants are available for proposals which help realise the objectives of ODC in relation to community development, sports development or economic development. There must be clear evidence of sustainability both financially and environmentall. Proposals should benefit the entire local community. A maximum grant of £25,000 is available.

Sports Events

Omagh District Council recognises that Sports, Leisure and Recreation events provide opportunities for people to become involved in physical activity and encourage visitors to come to the Omagh District, either as supporters or participants. The Council provides grant aid both to community organised sports events and activities, which have the primary purpose of engaging people in physical activity within their own community setting, and to established regional events which attract participants from beyond the Omagh district, as well as the local community. Funding is available towards the costs of organising, promoting and hosting sports events across the Omagh district.

Small Grants

You can apply for a small grant is you are not eligible for funding under any other programme. The maximum grant aid of £500. Projects must be consistent with at least one of the corporate themes identified within corporate plan and it must demonstrate impact or relevance within Omagh District Council area.
