Overview
The funding is intended for activities that will have positive social, economic and/or environmental impacts on the area.
The fund aims to:
- Support climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Promote a just transition.
- Promote general skills development.
- Improve local education.
Who can apply
Groups based in Southwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland can apply, including:
- Registered charities.
- Community interest companies.
- Charitable trusts.
- Academic institutions.
- Charitable companies.
- Unincorporated organisations.
Groups must have their own bank account.
Eligible Costs
Eligible projects include:
- Community education initiatives on sustainable practices to mitigate and adapt to climate change eg, energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable agriculture.
- Projects encouraging and promoting skills, education, and training in climate solutions. Such as upskilling and reskilling workshops with a focus on the renewable energy sector.
- General skills, training and development for local people.
- The development of educational initiatives that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
- Community education projects focusing on health and wellbeing.
- Projects supporting local academic institutions.
