Overview

Who can apply

  • The applicant organisation must be a non profit taking voluntary or community organisation based in Moyle District Council area.
  • The organisation must have a governing document or set of rules that has been properly adopted.
  • The organisation must have a bank or building society account and keep a proper record of its accounts.
  • Applications to the programme will be open to all summer schemes that can fulfill the criteria, irrespective of whether they are established or emerging schemes.
  • Council can only offer financial support to groups based in the Moyle area, running general community-based summer schemes within their local communities in Moyle which offer multi-activity programmes for children under the age of 18 and children and adults with special needs.
  • Applicants whose summer schemes are open to the whole community.

What can be funded

Eligible costs may include:

  • Wages
  • Recruitment of staff
  • ACCESS NI checks
  • Transport
  • Equipment
  • Venue hire
  • Programme costs e.g. coaches, craft materials etc
  • Administrative costs eg. stationery, postage etc

The following activities/ costs will not normally receive funding:

  • Entrance fees to entertainment venues eg. cinema
  • Refreshments
  • Schemes outside of Moyle District

A draft Programme of Activities should be included with the application for funding.

How much can you apply for

A total budget of £6,000 is available under the Rural Summer Schemes Grant Programme for 2014. The number and level of grants awarded will depend on the number of applications received and how well the applications meet the criteria detailed above. Applications can be made for a maximum of 75% of total eligible project costs. Submission of an application for funding should not be seen as an entitlement to funding and while there is no guarantee that successful applicants will receive the amount applied for, we will endeavor to do our best to support those schemes which fulfill the criteria detailed above.

Applications may be made for financial assistance towards the cost of wages, recruitment of staff and associated costs, transport, equipment, venue hire, programme costs (eg. coaches, craft materials etc) and administrative costs. A draft Programme of Activities should be included with the application for funding.

A total budget of £6,800 is available under the Rural Summer Schemes Grant Programme for 2009. Applications can be made for a maximum of 75% of total project costs. The number and level of grants awarded will depend on the number of applications received and how well the applications meet the criteria.

Due to limited resources, Council anticipates that it will only be able to offer financial support to general community summer schemes, which have a range of activities and are open to the whole community.
