Overview

Aims of the grant funding scheme:

Supporting new and existing ESOL and Employability projects to increase support and access to English support or skills development for asylum seekers and refugees through:

  • Supporting the progress of projects developing language and or employability skills
  • Supporting third sector organisations delivering non contracted services to asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of MDS
  • Providing easier access to services for asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of MDS
  • Encouraging community integration
  • Providing support to organisations and projects which may struggle to find support elsewhere

Who can apply?

  • Registered organisations managing existing hubs
  • Constituted groups
  • Charities
  • Faith groups
  • CICs
  • Not for profit organisations
  • Partnerships

Priority will be given to individuals and organisations who have not previously received funding from them.

You must have an organisation bank account to have the funds paid into if you are successful

Funding Level & Notes

Applicants can apply for a grant of up to £3,000.

Only one application per organisation can be made in any single funding round.

Awards can be made for capital and revenue costs. Funding can be used for:

  • Capital expenditure (e.g., equipment, furniture, materials, etc.)
  • Revenue costs (e.g., staff wages, venue hire costs).

You have 6 months to spend allocated award and demonstrate spending is completed.

What can you use this grant for?

  • To help with things like short-term running costs whilst seeking further funding or to provide essential needs that can’t be met elsewhere. This may include essentials like covering unexpected increases in bills/venue hire, activity costs, volunteer expenses, material items or
  • For costs of training and advertising.
  • To help you start a new project in an area of high need or to invest in an existing project, creating sustainability, such as equipment, training for staff and volunteers, support in advertising opportunities or identifying partners, hosting launch days and community events etc.
  • To expand an existing project to allow you to see more people or open more frequently
