Quinn Group Charitable Support Policy
Overview
With its Headquarters located in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh (Northern Ireland) the privately owned QUINN-group is one of Ireland's largest companies in diverse industries such as: cement and concrete products, container glass, general and health insurance, radiators, plastics, hospitality and real estate.
QUINN group was formed by its Chairman Mr. Sean Quinn in 1973, developing from a small quarrying operation in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh into the large global organisation it is today employing over 8,000 people in various locations throughout Europe. Since 2004 the Group has seen great expansion throughout Europe. With Radiator and Plastic Manufacturing plants in UK, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and Slovakia; the QUINN-property portfolio also includes some impressive Hotel and Business Centers in Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia.
Now one of the largest employers in Ireland it views the implementation of an effective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy as a critical long-term success factor for the Group as well as an important social duty.
At a local level the Group sponsors numerous sporting and educational activities including local GAA clubs and provincial events including facility development programmes. Recent local schools programmes that have been supported have included the purchase of equipment, contribution to structural redevelopment funds and language support teacher assistance.
Apart form the direct sponsorship of events and good causes, the Group also endorses the activities of each of the Group Company Social Clubs which organise numerous charitable events annually and contributes to a wide range of social and community initiatives.
