Overview

The following levels of funding are available:

  • Grants of up to £2,500 for groups operating with no premises.
  • Grants of up to £4,250 for groups operating out of a community house/flat or who hire premises on a daily weekly basis.
  • Grants of up to £5,500 for groups operating out of community/village hall or commercial premises.

The Community Support Grants Programme is provided by Lisburn City Council. The Council awards grants to local organisations for projects with a community development ethos.

Funding is available to local groups who meet the following objectives:

  • Contributing to the development of a meaningful partnership with the community sector across the Lisburn City Council area.
  • Encouraging the development of community led action at both the neighbourhood and city-wide levels.
  • Encouraging the residents of Lisburn to take responsibility for being active citizens through voluntary action.
  • Contributing to the Council's Good Relations policy through the scheme.
  • Targeting resources towards those areas where need is objectively recognised as greatest.
  • Assisting and supporting the development of local services which meet the needs of local people and improve their quality of life with the assistance of statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Assisting in the empowerment of local people to participate in making and influencing decisions on matters which affect their lives and the communities in which they live.

Key Criteria

Funding is available to constituted community and voluntary groups based in the Lisburn area, or clearly working with groups in the Lisburn City Council area.
