Overview

Fund Terms & Conditions:

  • The fund will cover project specific costs associated with maintaining the existing playing surface.
  • The playing pitch/facility must be of competition standard and capable of hosting official matches at all age levels.
  • The programme will fund up to 50% of eligible maintenance costs up to a maximum of £2,000.
  • Applicants must complete the eligibility checklist and will be required to produce the relevant documentation should the application be successful.
  • Applicants will be required to provide proof of ownership or evidence of a lease agreement in excess of 10 years.
  • The fund will only cover maintenance costs incurred in relation to the playing surface for the 2025/2026 financial year.
  • The fund cannot be used for the purchase of maintenance equipment.
  • The funding cannot be used towards paying salary costs.
  • Routine maintenance of buildings/clubrooms/spectator accommodation etc. are not eligible costs.

Who can apply?

  • Constituted not for profit Sports Clubs that are open, accountable and representative of the geographical area in which it services.
  • Sports Clubs must be affiliated to a National Governing Body and activities must be recognised as a Sport as outlined on Sport Northern Ireland's/Irish Sports Councils website.
  • All clubs must reside in the Derry City & Strabane District Council area.

How does the fund work?

  • Applications must be submitted before 3.00pm Friday 9th May 2025.
  • Applications will only be accepted by clubs who own their own grounds/facilities or have a long term lease in excess of 10 years.
  • Each club can only submit one application per financial year.
  • If a club is successful in securing funding, the funding will be paid into the clubs bank account once the appropriate paperwork and evidence of spend is provided.
  • This includes:
    • Invoice
    • Receipt
    • Bank Statement
    • Cheque Stub NB: Cash payments will not be considered.
