Overview

Grant-aid can assist with the cost of refurbishing premises, improving facilities for people with disabilities, bringing the property up to current health and safety and fire safety standards, child protection measures, or meeting the needs of young people within Section 75 and those of greater risk of social exclusion/marginalisation.

Please note to be eligible for funding, organisation’s must at the time of lodging the application form:

1. Be registered with the Education Authority; and
2. Be able to demonstrate the operation of a Youth Service Programme for at least nine hours per week, for a minimum of thirty weeks per annum

Organisations should use this time before publication of the application form to ensure they meet the above criteria.

In addition at the application stage organisations will be asked to submit a copy of their title deeds to the property for which grant-aid is being sought, or if the premises are leased, applicants will be required to provide a copy of their existing lease (with sufficient tenure to support a charge being placed on the property by the Department for a period of up to twenty two years, dependent upon the value of funding being sought). Also produce a letter from their landlord confirming they are aware of the application and are agreeable to the works sought being carried out.
