David Ervine Foundation
Overview
The David Ervine Foundation was established to celebrate the commitment of the late David Ervine to young people and social and political change across the most marginalised communities in Belfast. The Foundation, which is managed by The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, has three main objectives:
- To foster the development of young people
- To support community leadership
- To promote peace building and conflict resolution
What does the fund support?
The Awards provide young people who live, work or contribute to East Belfast with an opportunity to undertake international/local research for the benefit of East Belfast. Research areas should focus on either of the following – peacebuilding, conflict resolution or youth/community work.
The minimum bursary award which will be made will be £500 and will not exceed £2,500.
Priority in the first call will be given to expressions of interest from young people living in/ working in/ involved in the greater East Belfast area. Expressions of interest will also be accepted from applicants whose proposed project will work with areas of need in East Belfast.
