Overview

The members of Danske Bank Employees' Charity Group consist entirely of both current and retired Danske Bank employees. However the Group, which has been granted charity status, operates entirely independently of the bank. The Charity Group has paid out in excess of £976,000 to a wide range of charity projects across Northern Ireland.

In 2019 the group was able to provide over £34,000 of funding to 24 organisations.

Donations usually range from £1,000 to £3,000. Members pay into a fund monthly through the Give As You Earn scheme. An elected committee manages the fund by considering requests for donations, as well as by actively seeking out worthy causes to support. There are no overheads so all money received is used for charitable purposes.

Examples of recent donations:

  • Meningitis Research Foundation
  • Dundonald Family and Community Initiative
  • PIPS Suicide Prevention
  • Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland
  • Camphill Communities Trust
  • HIV Support Centre
  • Ballymena Family & Addicts' Support Group
