Overview

They offer financial assistance to local groups and individuals to develop local arts activity. The committee has a modest budget to allocate for this purpose and consequently awards usually range between £50 and £500, with lower sums being more typical.

Criteria

The funding should be used to encourage creative and arts related activity in dance, drama, music, presentations, workshops, lectures, publications, education, film, visual art, craft, community arts activity and arts courses, etc. The Committee is unable to consider applications for grant aid to fund full time or part time, undergraduate or post graduate courses. The committee will consider applications for short specialised arts courses where they see evidence of excellence in a particular field

The Committee is keen to support projects that will substantially benefit people living in the Borough.

Note

  • The Committee may recommend deficit funding of projects or events with up to £200 and no more than 50% of the overall costs. This will be awarded after submission of satisfactory final accounts of the project.
  • Retrospective funding may also be considered in exceptional circumstances.
