Overview
The Change Something Fund is led by two panels of young people aged 13-17 and 18-25 living in our local area. The panels were recruited from an open call to young people from the district.
Who Can apply to The Change Something Fund?
- Young people who are aged between 13-25 years old from Derry City and Strabane District Council area can apply.
- Young people will require the support from a host organisation, such as a school, club, or an organisation who supports the community.
If you have an idea but you have not got a host organisation, please contact them for advice.
- Organisations can apply if they can ensure that a young person/s is the lead.
How Much Can I apply for?
There are two grant sizes:
- Small grants from £200 -£500
- Larger Grants from £501-£3,000
What is important to remember?
The activity will take place in 2019 and will be led by young people with support from a host organisation.
The Change Something Fund will welcome applications to support activities or events which helps young people with:
- Health and wellbeing
- The World around us and our environment
- Education
- Skills
- Employment
- Youth Democracy- Get your Voice Heard
- Disability
- Inclusion
- Arts activities
- Any other ideas
If you are unsure of which theme best describes your project, please contact them.
Examples of the types of activities that may be supported:
- Projects which promote activity between young people and older citizens
- Projects which support young parents up to the age of 25
- Projects which educate young people about the environment
- Drama, art, sport and other cultural activities
- Activities which bring young people together
- Projects or activities which promote awareness of mental health
- Projects which encourage and promote young people to find their voice
- Projects which address bullying and cyber bullying
- Projects which support young people with disabilities to feel included
- Projects which support young people living in difficult family situations e.g: as carers or in care
