Overview

Small grants

  • Our maximum grant is around £300
  • We are normally only able to assist with one item per application
  • We aim to be flexible to assist those most in need, if you are unsure whether your request will meet our criteria please contact us
  • Facing financial hardship alone does not make a client eligible for our support; to be considered they need to be facing additional social welfare issues and suffering deprivation as a result.Social welfare issues could include: domestic abuse, drug/alcohol misuse, estrangement, illness, distress, abuse, neglect and behavioural or mental health issues.

Emergency essentials

They can deliver or fund critical household items such as:

  • Gas or electric cookers
  • Essential household items, furniture and kitchen equipment
  • Clothing in exceptional or emergency situations
  • Baby equipment
  • Fridges and freezers
  • Washing machines
  • Children’s beds and bedding

Grants for young person without family support

They can provide financial help to young people who receive no support from their parents or guardians so that they can further their education or employment. To apply the young person must have a clear education, training or employment goal that they are pursuing or intend to pursue within three months of their application to us. We can provide direct financial support to meet this goal, and also help them to set up home and/or to improve their emotional, mental or physical wellbeing. Each package of support can be worth up to £2,000.

Having considered what the young person’s employment or training goals are, work with them to create a plan of what steps they need to take and what things they will need to achieve these goals. Some of the things that we would consider supporting include, but are not limited to:

  • Equipment to take up a training opportunity
  • Interview clothes
  • A computer for their studies
  • Travel costs to get to college

Boarding school fees

They can consider a contribution to boarding school fees when there is a strong case as to why a child cannot stay within the family home with their parent or carer.

Anchor grants

The Anchor Project supports children who have unmet emotional, social or educational needs because of domestic abuse they have been exposed to. We can help reduce the impact domestic abuse can have on a child by funding items, activities or services to help them move forward with their lives and establish a new home.
