Overview

The Council will make small awards which offer financial assistance for sporting purposes.

Applicants must be:

  • a resident of the Ards Borough
  • Representing their sport at international level or higher
  • of amateur status
  • qualified to represent their country (i.e. Ulster, NI, Ireland or Great Britain) through competition and selected to do so by an apprpriate selection body

Awards are made as follows:

  • Event within the British Isles: £100
  • Event within mainland Europe: £120
  • Event outside Europe: £150

In addition the sport must have a governing body which is recognised by the Sports Council of Northern Ireland.

Please note also that participation in the Milk Cup Soccer Tournament qualifies for assistance.
