Overview

New Shoots, a new nationwide RHS initiative, aims to grow the number and diversity of people choosing horticulture as a career.

As part of this initiative they aim to increase horticultural opportunities at their RHS Gardens to tackle the skills shortage this sector faces, starting at RHS Garden Wisley and RHS Garden Bridgewater in 2023.

If you would like to gain work experience at their RHS Gardens, please provide them with more information through their online expression of interest form. If you are under the age of 16, please ask a parent or teacher to help you complete the application form. If you have any questions, please contact workexperience@rhs.org.uk.

T Level Industry Placements

From September 2023, they will also be able to host industry placements at RHS Garden Wisley and RHS Garden Bridgewater as part of the T Level for Agriculture, Land Management and Production.

If you’d like to know more about the New Shoots initiative, please get in touch with newshoots@rhs.org.uk.

The RHS want to inspire everyone to grow, and the RHS Flourish Fund is part of their pledge to attract and support a wider range of people to connect with horticulture. A commitment of £150,000, consisting of grants up to £15,000, the Fund aims to support organisations across the UK that are helping people acquire horticultural skills.
