Overview

AIB Group provide support in four areas: Sponsorship, Better Ireland Awards, AIB Art Collection and Bank of Children's Smiles (Poland).

  • Sponsorship: Their vision is to deliver a distinctive sponsorship proposition to their customers and staff. This is achieved by supporting clubs and communities through the sponsorship partnerships that we are involved in. Sponsorship is presently undertaken in the fields of Community and Arts; GAA; Rugby and Golf.
  • Better Ireland Awards: After a period of extensive research, AIB introduced the Better Ireland Programme, that is committed to tackling the issue of social exclusion at an early stage and focuses its resources into key concerns affecting children in Ireland.
  • AIB Art Collection: Today the AIB Art Collection includes works by many of Ireland's finest artists. The AIB Prize is another important way in which they support the Irish art world. Through this they focus on assisting artists of the future, early in their careers.

Better Ireland Awards

The new and improved AIB Better Ireland Programme has been broadened to include even more children than before. As before the Programmes’ overall focus is to tackle social exclusion amongst children and this goal has now been further subdivided into five key ‘causes’. AIB hope to enhance the lives of children across Ireland by concentrating on 5 issues that affect children:

  • Physical / Sensory disabilities
  • Intellectual / General learning disabilities
  • Drug /Alcohol abuse
  • A lack of access to mainstream education due to poverty
  • Homelessness

The new Programme will also be administered in very different way than before. After an initial application process in February a cash award of €10,000 will be made to a local children’s group by each of the 185 participating branches across the country. The best part is that you the public will have the final say as to which group gets the money by means of a public text vote. For more information on how the programme will take place just click on the different 'phases' in the related information section.
