UnLtd Awards
Overview
They look to support those with the most potential for impact and who need their help to make their vision a reality. They are committed to using their resources to drive change. At least 50% of their Awards will support social entrepreneurs who come from a disabled and/or Black, Asian or minority ethnic background.
Definitions
Eligible Social entrepreneurs are:
- The founder and lead of the social venture
- Are 16+ years old or older.
- Have not previously received the same type of Award for the same social venture
- Living in the United Kingdom
Eligible Social ventures are
- Has the potential to be a financially sustainable business or real prospects to grow with their support
- Can demonstrate a clear need for your idea or social venture
- Is clearly driven by its social purpose
- Needs both of UnLtd's financial and non-financial support to make it happen
Awards
They combine funding and support to help you to get started or grow. Depending on your stage of development they can offer up to £18,000.
Starting Up
Up to £8,000 for social venture costs
You are committed to creating social impact in a financially sustainable way. You are at an early stage or have started to make a difference to people's lives, communities, or the planet.

- SELLING GOODS AND SERVICES; Less than 1 year
Scaling Up
Up to £18,000 for social venture costs and social entrepreneur living costs
You are the founder of a financially sustainable social venture that is making a positive difference to people’s lives, communities, or the planet. You have evidence of your social impact and ambitions to build on it.
Eligibility
- INCORPORATED; Less than 4 years
- SELLING GOODS AND SERVICES; 1 to 4 years
Programme Support
As an Award Winner you will have access to the advice, guidance and expertise needed to build on the foundations of your social venture and grow your impact.
Millennium Awards Trust
To be considered for the Millennium Awards Trust programme you must be:
- Aged - 16 years old or older
- Located in United Kingdom
- Operating in any sector
Millennium Awards Trust awards are open to any social entrepreneur aged 16+ tackling a range of social issues. They give you access to funding and expert support to enable you to start or grow your social venture. Awards are funded through an endowment by the Millennium Commission with a National Lottery Grant.
- Pro-bono consultancy - Their legal partners can offer professional consultation on a variety of topics; from determining the best legal structure for you, to discussing your intellectual property and assisting with leases and contracts.
- Upskill with your peers - You'll have access to a regular and varied calendar of workshops from expert facilitators and they'll help you to develop and deepen your knowledge and understanding by connecting you to fellow Award Winners.
- Support manager - This person will guide you through your support, offering one to one coaching throughout your award period. They have dedicated teams and specialist support available to help you to identify & work towards your support goals to help you & your venture flourish.
- Expert advice and guidance - They have a large network of supportive business professionals, corporate partners and alumni who will generously offer you the expert advice and mentoring you need to develop as a social entrepreneur.
Access to Employment
To be considered for the Access to Employment programme you must be:
- Aged 16 years old or older
- Located in United Kingdom
- Operating in Access to employment sector
Their work on access to employment is responding to a growing movement of social entrepreneurs addressing the challenges faced by individuals who experience systemic barriers to employment such as disabled people, refugees, care leavers, ex-offenders and single parents. In innovative ways, social entrepreneurs are providing quality supportive jobs, training opportunities, or challenging different sectors to transform. They have a team of Support Managers with sector-specific expertise able to support social entrepreneurs to find sustainable revenue streams to scale up their social venture.
- Monthly online meetings - Each month they bring together social entrepreneurs with one another to share learning, connect and for mutual support.
- Sector specific expertise - Their teams are specialists in social venture support and bring a wealth of knowledge to support you on your journey.
- Everything in Millennium Awards Trust - Get access to a Support Manager, pro-bono consultancy, workshops to upskill with your peers, and expert advice and guidance.
Funding Futures Programme
To be considered for the Funding Futures Programme you must be:
- Aged 16 to 30 years old
- Located in United Kingdom
- Operating in Financial inclusion sector
The effects of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis have hit marginalised and minoritised communities the hardest, negatively impacting the livelihoods of many. The Funding Futures Programme will harness the power of youth to find solutions for those who have been sidelined by the financial system. Through their support, they will give young people the power to make their communities fairer places to live.
As an Award Winner on the Funding Futures Programme, you will be able to access tailored support including:
- Financial literacy resources - You'll receive support to help strengthen your financial literacy skills and help improve the financial resilience of your social venture.
- Peer-to-Peer Learning - Regular opportunities to connect with fellow social entrepreneurs working to reduce financial inequalities to share the journey and learn from their experiences.
- Everything in Millennium Awards Trust - Get access to a Support Manager, pro-bono consultancy, workshops to upskill with your peers, and expert advice and guidance.
Healthy Ageing
To be considered for the Healthy Ageing programme you must be:
- Aged 16 years old or older
- Located in United Kingdom
- Operating in Healthy ageing sector
The UK is undergoing a major demographic shift and they want to help social entrepreneurs improve the health and wellbeing of marginalised older adults, whilst reducing health inequalities across the UK. Through their healthy ageing work they are supporting social entrepreneurs taking on this challenge, offering their team of Support Managers able to connect you with your peers, sector-specific expertise and help develop stronger routes to market for financial sustainability.
As an Award Winner on the Healthy Ageing programme, you will be able to access tailored support including:

Movement for Change (England only)
To be considered for the Movement for Change programme you must be:
- Aged 16 years old or older
- Located in England
- Operating in Sports and physical activity sectors
In partnership with Sport England, the Movement for Change programme aims to support social entrepreneurs who are helping to unlock the advantages of sport and physical activity for the most marginalised communities. Awards of up to £18,000 are available, alongside support to develop key business and leadership skills to help social ventures become more financially sustainable
As an Award Winner on the Movement for Change programme, you will be able to access tailored support including:
- Learning circles - Monthly online sessions to connect with and learn from fellow social entrepreneurs in the sport and physical activity space
- Subsidised Consultancy - Access to specialised consultancy services that are not covered by UnLtd’s learning offer to support your growth
- Bespoke Workshops - Delivered by experts covering different aspects of running a social venture from impact to income
- Learning journeys - Opportunities to learn from fellow social entrepreneurs by visiting and experiencing their work
- Everything in Millennium Awards Trust - Get access to a Support Manager, pro-bono consultancy, workshops to upskill with your peers, and expert advice and guidance.
