Ulster People's College Fund
Overview
Grants of up to £10,000 will be made to community groups and organisations to enable them to address some of the ways in which disadvantage can be positively addressed, in particular through education and community capacity building.
The aim of the fund is to empower communities with skills and experiences to create a stronger, more engaged society in Northern Ireland.
Who can apply:
Constituted non-profit, voluntary and community based organisations and social enterprises based and working within Northern Ireland.
In the event of oversubscription priority will be given to applicants with levels of income below £150,000 per annum
What can be funded?
Under the programme the community groups and organisations can apply to:
- Provide community education and development that is aimed at tackling the challenges of social and economic disadvantage
- Improve civic participation for people who are disadvantaged and excluded
- Overcome cultural and political division
Examples of types of activities/projects they will fund:
- Community empowerment initiatives
- Leadership projects
- Adult education programmes, in particular aimed at improving adult literacy
- Entrepreneurship & Employability Programmes
- Capital costs costs are eligible up to a maximum amount of £2,000
