Overview

SSGT will carry out a learning programme over the next three years. It will start with a mapping project the aim of which is to better understand the baseline of current support services for prisoners and exprisoners and their families in Ireland.

The mapping exercise will highlight and analyse gaps in service delivery (as well as good practices in service delivery) to assist funders, policy-makers, and service providers in planning, advocacy activity, and in prioritising actions.

When this is complete, a small grant programme will be developed which strengthens voluntary organisations to advocate and support prisoners, exprisoners and their families through their practice. The precise focus of the grant programme will be dependent on the findings of the mapping analysis.
