Safe & Well Project Older People Resources: Down & Lisburn Areas
Overview
The purpose of this funding is to provide resources to community groups or projects whose main beneficiaries are 50 years and over.
Programme needs to provide at least ten sessions for at least ten people.
Criteria
1. A programme that promotes Health & Wellbeing
Please provide as much detail as possible in this section. You need to evidence how you meet the criteria outlined above.
1a. To be eligible for funding your main group members must be 50 year and over
1b. The programme may include the following activities:
- Physical Activity – which may include for example; walking, gardening , swimming, bowling and dance
- Accident Prevention / Home Safety Programme – e.g. Falls Prevention Programme, Home Safety / Accident Prevention talks (facilitated by appropriate professional)
- Healthy Cooking / Healthy Eating Programmes – e.g. Cook it
- Additional programmes that promote health and wellbeing where your group have identified/expressed a need
1c. You should be able to demonstrate expected outcomes of your programme where possible provide details of previous programmes
2. Value for Money
2a. Please ensure that costs are allocated to all10 activities. Those activities that are free to your group will not be counted in the total 10 activities required to be eligible for the funding
2b. Apply for a maximum of £500.00 for your group/project per year
2c. If you have secured or applied for part or complete funding of this programme else where please provide details. Also, include any donations/membership fees or fund raising activities; quizzes, bag packs or collections etc.

3. Widening Participation
3a. You will need to consider that funding will not always be available; therefore you need to think carefully how you can continue to provide these activities/programme when funding ceases.
Please provide as much detail on how you propose to sustain the activities/programme, such activities could include fund raising events (quizzes, car boot sales, raffles etc) member contributions and sponsorship from local businesses
3b. It’s important for your group to consider how you can attract new members from the community to join. Please outline how you intend to promote the programme/group. For example posters, newsletters, mail shots, word of mouth etc. Where possible give examples of how you have done this in the past.

4b. Please show how your evaluation will inform future programmes. Please provide examples of evaluations previously completed.
