Paul Hamlyn Foundation: Act for Change Fund
Overview
Funding priorities
The want to fund young people with experience of inequality or injustice to lead social action activities in the UK to create change.
Many young people want to see change in their communities and the world around them. The Fund encourages applications that seek to make change. Change-making activities could involve, but are not limited to: campaigning, advocacy, direct action, mobilisation, lobbying for change, engagement, coalition building, legal challenges or movement building.
They want to fund work across the UK, including organisations working in rural communities or outside of big cities and in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
How much can you apply for?
Act for Change Fund will make grants of between £20,000 and £100,000 over two years.
They strongly encourage organisations to consider their own size, capacity and experience in relation to the amount requested. Larger grants will be considered on an exceptional basis – please contact them if you would like to discuss a larger grant.
What they are looking for
You need to demonstrate:
- How you reach and support young people (aged 14-25) with lived experience of inequality or injustice to challenge the root causes of disadvantage, and create change;
- How young people lead change or are poised to lead change, with the support of your organisation, with young people in decision-making positions at all or many levels;
- How this funding will help your organisation improve your impact, reach or sustainability in relation to youth-led social action for change.
