- contributing to advancing the goals of the Northern Ireland Museum Policy
- assisting the museum to renew or maintain Accredited status
and, the applicant has

- planned for or secured the necessary ‘match funding’ from non-central Government funds (‘in kind’ support may be deemed eligible, but applicants should check this with NIMC prior to submitting your application).
Public Policy Priorities
Through consultation NIMC has established that, while museums can have a notable impact across the majority of the outcomes and indicators contained within the Programme for Government, the sector’s work is primarily focused across the following outcomes;
- We are an innovative, creative society, where people can fulfil their potential
- We are a confident, welcoming, outward-looking society
- We have created a place where people want to live and work, to visit and invest
- We give our children and young people the best start in life
- We are a shared society that respects diversity
And the following indicators;
- Improve cultural participation
- Improve the skills profile of the population
- Improve educational outcomes
- Improve child development
- Increase respect for each other
- Improve our international reputation
- Improve our attractiveness as a destination
- Increase the quality of life for people with disabilities

For this round of the grant programme applicants may seek up to 65% of the total project costs. NIMC may also:
