Overview
Mervyn Peake was an acclaimed illustrator, writer and poet whose work explored the world of fantasy. He continued to produce tremendously imaginative works despite developing Parkinson’s. The Parkinson’s Disease Society works closely with Mervyn Peake’s family, with the aim of recognising creative effort and talent in his memory.
The Awards are open to anyone in the UK living with Parkinson’s, and your entries are warmly invited in three categories:
- Photography - entries must be no smaller than 7x5 inches and no larger than 20x16 inches.
- Poetry - maximum 500 words
- Art - includes drawing, painting and collage.
The PDS wants to encourage and applaud the artistic achievements of people living with Parkinson’s. Whether you are a beginner to painting, like to pen a poem in your spare time or have exhibited your work, they will be delighted to receive your entry.
