Overview

Community groups, families, schools and a wide range of other organisations are being invited to research their local WW1 story and share their findings in a local commemorative event where “The Last Post” can be played on an instrument of choice, transforming commemoration into a community event, and enlarging our understanding of WW1 with personal stories.

The comprehensive toolkit has lots of ideas for projects, marketing materials and other resources that turn running an event into an easy process with the help of our regional project manager. The songbook also has lots of music from the era for groups interested in bringing a musical element to their centenary event.

Finance is being awarded on a first come/first served basis, with groups displaying creativity, an inter-generational focus, and uncovering new stories qualifying for the full amount of £200.
