Overview

The work of the Trust is split into four distinct areas, including:

  • welfare,
  • charitable donations,
  • staff applications and
  • named funds.

The John Laing Charitable Trust (JLCT) has always tried to match its areas of donations to sectors allied to the Company's business.

More recently, the Trust has concentrated its support on charities which support the following main themes:

  1. Education
  2. Community Regeneration
  3. Disadvantaged young people
  4. Homelessness with a particular emphasis on day centres
  5. Environment

The John Laing Charitable Trust takes a pro-active role in seeking charities that fit the criteria.

Donations range from £250 to £25,000 with up to 12 charities receiving more than £10,000. Usually, charities receive one-off donations, but a small number are supported for an agreed period, often up to three years.
