House of Fraser Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
Overview
House of Fraser is one of the best known names on the UK high street and they came to Northern Ireland for the first time when Victoria Square opened in 2008.
House of Fraser was itself acquired by the Highland consortium in November 2006 and has 61 stores in the UK & Ireland around 61 stores in the UK and annual sales in excess of £1.25bn.
House of Fraser make charitable donations wherever possible and, along with their nominated charity of the year, the stores are encouraged to undertake their own fundraising events and activities for local charities.
It would appear that the Northern Ireland store has flexibility to choose its own Charity of the Year, hence, Action Cancer in 2008 which is different to House of Fraser nationally.
Example Grants
In the summer of 2007, House of Fraser and Trees for Cities joined forces to create a unique environmental partnership. Trees for Cities is an independent Charity which was set up in 1993 to work with local communities to improve urban landscapes and to counter the effects of global warming.
Action Cancer are being supported through 2009/10.
The partnership has been made possible by donations from House of Fraser generated from the sales of our wooden cabinet ranges. In stores, you will see the specially designed signage displayed on the participating ranges.
How to Apply
The Belfast store has indicated in can receive proposals however given the level of commitment to the Charity of the Year the level of support is very restricted. It is recommended that only a brief proposal is submitted to the contact for a modest level of support.
UK-wide they cannot offer any support or donations at this time as they currently fully support and fund their nominated charity, Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign, as well as the Retail Trust.
