FIFA Foundation Community Programme 2024
Overview
In the 2024 edition, applications from a record 130 non-governmental organisations from across 54 countries were accepted, supporting 154,924 people, including 74,863 women. In total, almost one million people have benefited from FIFA Foundation Community Programme-funded initiatives.
Community Programme
The aim of the FIFA Foundation Community Programme is to support well established non-profit organisations that use football to address the most pressing global challenges that affect underprivileged children and young people, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. To this end, the Foundation provides yearly financial support to cover a wide range of costs, incl. programmatic and institutional costs, as well as costs related to projects, initiatives, events and workshops.
The programme seeks to engage NGOs in a variety of initiatives that contribute to good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, no poverty, reduced inequalities, peace, justice and strong institutions, and the promotion of decent work and economic growth.
The FIFA Foundation Community Programme recognises and capitalises on football’s ability to make a real impact on the lives of millions of underprivileged children and young adults across the world.
As well as health and enjoyment, it also provides community and companionship. They encourage organisations in this sphere to apply and help them to help you make a real difference through football.
Additionally, NGOs are encouraged to showcase how they use football to tackle social issues and bring about positive social change. The comprehensive selection process involves strict eligibility criteria and requires organisations to submit an extensive range of supporting documentation in the areas of finance and child protection.
