How it will work
Stage 1: Expression of Interest Scoring Criteria
Applicant groups must meet ALL the scoring criteria; those who fail to demonstrate how their project meets any one of these will have their Expression of Interest rejected and will not move on to Stage 2. The responsibility to provide sufficient detail rests with the group.
- Community Safety - Tell us about the community safety issues in your community, what evidence do you have to support this?
- Project Activity - Describe the activity to be delivered. Include information on the target group (age range, numbers) and how the project will be advertised. Where will the activity take place and what is the timescale for delivery.
- Project Outcomes - What are the main outcomes of the project i.e. what do you want to achieve and what difference will this make to your community.
Assessment of applications will be made using a system that measures and scores 0-5 on each of the criteria listed above.
Applicants should note this is a competitive process and assessment to progress to Stage 2 will be based on the information contained in the Expression of Interest form. The PCSP reserves the right not to proceed with Stage 2 should there be insufficient number of applications to make the voting process viable.
Stage 2: The Marketplace Event
Those projects that have passed Stage 1 assessment will be invited to participate in a public Marketplace event.
- The date/venue for Omagh based projects (those with a Omagh postcode) is Saturday 12 October in Main Street, Omagh from 11 am to 2 pm.
- The date/venue for Fermanagh based projects (those with a Fermanagh postcode) is Saturday 19 October in the FIND Centre, East Bridge Street Enniskillen from 11 am to 2 pm.
Note: Groups with an Omagh postcode must attend the Omagh event and groups with an Enniskillen postcode must the Enniskillen event.
The two events will be advertised, and public invited to attend and vote for their preferred projects up to a maximum of 10.
At the Marketplace event, invited groups will have an information stand where they can display/information available on the project that they are seeking funding for.
Each group will be allocated a specific table using random selection. Group representatives (volunteers only) must be available to speak to the public to answer questions or provide further information.
Groups wishing to use a digital presentation or video are advised that there is no access to power and internet connection may be limited.
The public will have a card to be stamped by the project – this indicates that the voter has engaged with the project to inform their voting decision.
A vote cast for a group where there is no bespoke stamp will not be counted.
Having visited the information stands voters go to a separate area to cast their votes. Voters must be aged 12 years plus to participate. Voting will be open for the duration of the event i.e. 11 am to 2 pm.
The groups that receive the highest number of votes will receive the funding with all groups notified no later than Monday 28 October 2024. All groups proceeding to Stage 2 will be briefed on what to expect at the Marketplace event and how they can showcase their project.
