Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has established a Councillor led working group to oversee the delivery of a programme to mark the key Centenary anniversaries taking place in in the period 2012 – 2023.

Funding is now available for groups that wish to organise Centenary initiatives, events, activities, record and archive local stories or carry out research leading to public lecture, exhibition, publication - including films and oral histories - relating to the period 1912 - 1923.

Applications will only be accepted from groups based in the Fermanagh & Omagh District Council area or for projects with a specific relevance to the Fermanagh and Omagh District area.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is keen to see applications for projects that:

 Explore the changing role of women within the decade of centenaries

 Tell hidden histories and personal stories

 Highlight everyday life over 100 years

 Mark the centenary of a specific event or events relevant to the Fermanagh and Omagh District

 Capture local stories and oral histories

1. Start from the historical facts

2. Recognise the implications and consequences of what happened;

3. Understand that different perceptions and interpretation exist; and

4. Show how events and activities can deepen understanding of the period. All to be seen in the context of an ‘inclusive and accepting Society’.

Further explanation of these principles and other relevant background information can be found at - https://www.community-relations.org.uk/decade-centenaries

The following criteria will be used in the assessment process.
