Overview

The Eco Fund is funded by DPD's circular economy initiative to protect the environment. The plastic shrink wrap used in DPD's operation is broken down, and then recycled to create new plastic shrink wrap. DPD also re-use and recycle the wooden pallets used in their depots and the money generated from both these initiatives goes into the Eco Fund.

Objectives of Fund

The Fund seeks to support local organisations that are delivering green projects and environment-friendly initiatives.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available.

An applicant will only be eligible to receive a maximum of one donation from the Fund in any two-year period.

Any monies transferred from the Fund to an applicant shall be considered a donation and not an investment.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible to apply for a donation from the Fund, applications must be made on behalf of a:

  • Third sector organisation.
  • Charity.
  • School.
  • Community organisation.
  • Small or medium enterprise with less than 10 employees.

Each application must be accompanied by a quote(s) for the goods or services for which the donation is going to be used.

DPD particularly encourages applications on behalf of schools and educational facilities across the UK working on green projects with their students, and start-up companies working on developing environmentally friendly products.
