Overview

Each year, literally thousands of our people take part in a huge variety of fundraising activities, such as raffles, auctions, quiz nights, organised walks, runs and bike rides, as well as more challenging marathons and triathlons. Their people also provide support to charity by giving their time and expertise through a range of volunteering and pro-bono activities.

Every office has a champion who organises local events, and there's an online fundraising calendar of national fundraising activities. Additionally, each year the firm allocates a matched funded amount for staff fundraising events.

Charity Partners

Every two years our people nominate and then vote for our national charity partners for the next two years. During November 2012 our people will be invited to nominate charities they would like the firm to support over the period 1st June 2013- 31st May 2016. These charities must be non-political and non-religious and their impact must be in the UK. We will also have a focus on smaller to medium sized charities with annual revenue of between £10m - £75m. We will expect to announce 2-3 charities in total for support, with at least 2 of these within these income ranges.

Based on the quality and number of nominations from our people, a shortlist of charities will be invited to work with Deloitte volunteers to develop an initial, high level proposition outlining how working together can achieve the greatest impact. Our people are then invited to vote on those propositions in March 2013 and the new partnerships will be announced in April 2013. We will not invite charities in to pitch directly and do not encourage charities to canvass our people. We will be in touch with shortlisted charities in January 2013.

In addition to these charities Deloitte also has established relationships with ParalympicsGB and SportsAid through Deloitte Disability Sport , and the African Rainforest Trust through our work with the United Bank of Carbon.

Payroll Giving

They operate one of the most successful payroll giving schemes in the UK. More than 2,700 of their people give tax-effectively, direct from their pay, to support their favourite causes. It's not only a simpler way to give on a regular basis but it's more beneficial to the charities and causes supported because all contributions receive a matching bonus from Deloitte.
