Overview
Criteria
The fund has identified the following priorities:
- Educational activities supporting young people (priority will be given to projects supporting young people aged 18 and younger) from disadvantaged areas.
- Projects that will directly benefit those disaffected from mainstream education.
- Early years intervention, particularly in disadvantaged areas.
- A partnership approach involving multiple agencies, working with parents and teachers and community based organisations.

- Constituted organisations based with Northern Ireland
Example Projects
Examples of projects that may address some of these issues include:
- Addressing expectations of young people, teachers and/or parents, giving people hope e.g. urban villages digital literacy giving a sense of energy, developing something new and exciting
- Projects building self-esteem with young people disaffected from mainstream education
- Provision of after school/homework clubs in disadvantaged areas where there are none
- Community based youth clubs in areas where there are none
- Community based apprenticeships for young people
The fund is interested in adding value and offering hands on support through advice, mentoring and/or meeting grantees where appropriate. At the panel’s discretion additional support may be offered.
