Community Bridges Programme
Overview
The International Fund for Ireland (“the Fund”) is an independent international organisation set up by the British and Irish Governments in 1986. The Fund’s objectives are:-
- To promote economic and social advance; and
- To encourage contact, dialogue and reconciliation between Nationalists and Unionists throughout Ireland.
The Programme has as its Objectives the support and development of projects that are innovative and ground breaking.
The Community Relations Council manages the Community Bridges Programme on behalf of the Fund. The Community Bridges Programme exists to support:
Organisations delivering projects with the potential to make a significant contribution to reconciliation and the emergence of a shared and peaceful future on the island.
Priority will be given to applications which support local inter-community development or inter-community partnership at interface areas; work which assists groups in the conflict transformation process and capacity building for peace development work; cross-border engagement in peace building and the joint study and reflection of contentious history; innovative community relations interventions in education and youth work and emerging areas for intervention under A Shared Future.
How to Apply
Compete the Expression of Interest Application Form which is designed so that organisations may present outline proposals at an early stage of development for consideration by the Fund. Approved Expressions of Interest will then be incorporated into the Community Bridges Programme Workplan and a full application will be anticipated within an agreed timescale. Applicants should note that approval to submit a full application in no way indicates a successful final decision.
