What is this fund for?
This fund is for Organisations that are led by individuals from and/or focused on communities experiencing racial inequality and the emergency needs within these communities within the UK
AND
Organisations working under one or more of the following themes:
- Health including mental health
- Vulnerable people
- Food poverty
- Domestic abuse
- Education
- Poverty
- Supporting refugee and asylum-seeker communities
They expect this fund to be over-subscribed. Therefore, they will prioritise organisations who can demonstrate that they meet the following priorities:
- Equality and Diversity.
- Strong connections within their local networks.
- Organisations who can demonstrate a commitment to innovation and sustainable solutions for positive change.
Who can Apply?
To apply to this fund you must be:
- A UK Registered Charity or Community Interest Company (CIC)
- Working within the UK
- Annual income under £500,000

FAQs
- What do you mean by ‘communities facing racial inequality’? By this they mean communities typically but not exclusively referred to as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME). These are communities who may be facing discrimination, disadvantage or be marginalised.
- How much can I apply for? Organisations can apply for up to £10,00 for project or core costs which meet the criteria. Please refer to their funding criteria for more information.
- What can I spend the money on? Funds should be spent on projects or core costs which seek to address the issues named in the criteria faced by communities facing racial inequality. Organisations who are seeking core costs will need to demonstrate a commitment and aim to supporting these communities through their core work.
- When is the closing date? The fund will close for applications on 30th April at 5.00pm
- What happen after I apply? Applications will be assessed against the eligibility criteria and considered by their board. Due diligence checks will take place. Please see the funding criteria for more information.
- When will I hear the outcome? They expect to inform all applicants by the end of May 2021.
- When will awards be made? Awards are expected to be made in early June 2021.
- What is the duration of the funding? The funding is expected to be used over the duration of 6 – 9 months.
