Overview

The Co-Ownership Social Fund is a grants programme with a budget of £10,000 each year.

  • The project or projects funded should start (but need not be completed) in that financial year.
  • The entire fund may be awarded to a single organisation (or partnership) for a single project, or divided across several organisations and projects. The projects may be entirely new or already existing.
  • Co-Ownership is keen to see reasonable numbers of people benefitting and a geographic spread of the proposed project where possible.
  • Co-Ownership Housing will expect a reasonable amount of promotional coverage for its funding.

What is Funded?

The fund seeks to fund a project or projects which will:

• Help regenerate, rebuild, and revitalise neighbourhoods and communities;
• Support elderly or disabled people; or;
• Provide advice and educational services to promote either financial capability and inclusion, energy efficiency or biodiversity in the community.
Co-ownership Housing will convene a panel to choose the successful projects. It will use the following criteria against the project proposals:
• A clear and identified need
• A clear plan for measuring social impact
• Participants have helped to plan the project
• Partnership working
• Uses some existing resources or match funding
• Well planned
• Locally connected
• A lasting impact in the lives of communities or individuals

Who Can Apply?

  • The Co-Ownership Social Fund is open to consider all or any project ideas which fall under the headings above but would particularly like to see applications for projects which would work with social housing tenants or which would develop new partnerships to maximise impact.
  • Funding is open to constituted organisations but may be held on behalf of an unconstituted group.
