ChurchCare: Fabric Repairs
Overview
Grants are available for PCCs towards the eligible costs of essential fabric repairs in architecturally or historically significant Anglican churches in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The grants are offered by The Wolfson Foundation and ChurchCare in partnership.
Eligibility criteria
They fund urgent fabric repairs in Grade I or II* listed Anglican church buildings in England, Scotland and Wales, and Grade A or B+ listed Anglican church buildings in Northern Ireland.
They fund urgent fabric repairs. These tend to be repairs that are Category A or B recommendations in Quinquennial Inspection reports. This includes urgent roof repairs (including repairs due to lead theft), masonry repairs, rainwater disposal and drainage, and floorwork.
Projects must be overseen by an architect with appropriate conservation accreditation
- 50% of the required funding needs to have been secured as 'cash in the bank' or pledges at point of application
- You should not have benefited from a ChurchCare/Wolfson Foundation fabric repairs grant in the previous five years
If you would like to discuss the eligibility of your project, contact us] or at 020 7898 1872.
If offered, grants are available for 12 months from the date of the award, so parishes need to consider carefully when to submit an application so that they may benefit from the funding while work is in progress.
