Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council: Health and Wellbeing Grant Programme
Overview
Applicants applying for funding from the Health and Wellbeing Grant Programme will have to demonstrate how their organisation contributes to the engagement and development of mental wellbeing within a sports club or community setting or the positive impact the grant can have for an individual which links to Council Strategy (2021-25) ‘Healthy and Engaged Communities’.
- Outcome 1: All people of the Causeway Coast and Glens benefit from improved physical health and mental wellbeing
- 1.1 The people of the Causeway Coast and Glens will have increased opportunities to participate in sustained physical activity.
- 1.2 The people of the Causeway Coast and Glens will have increased opportunities to participate in social and creative activity.
- Outcome 3: All people of the Causeway Coast and Glens can live independently as far as possible and access support services when they need it
- 3.1 The people of Causeway Coast and Glens will be supported in making healthy lifestyle choices which protect and enhance their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Funding Level & Notes
Council will consider 100% funding of total eligible costs up to a maximum of £1000 for eligible applications from sporting or community organisations.
The types of expenditure that the grant can contribute towards include:
- Projects that support increased participation in activities that promote good physical and mental well-being within their communities
- Project specific venue hire
- Project specific travel within Northern Ireland
- Facilitators fees for mental health & wellbeing workshop.
- Project specific equipment
Who Can Apply?
The Causeway Coast and Glens Sport and Wellbeing Grant Programme is available to local sporting and community organisations. To be eligible for grant-aid, you will have to show that your organisation is a bona fide sports/ community organisation that is well run and that it:
- Has a properly adopted “Governing Document” such as a constitution or memorandum and articles of association which clearly show that it is non-profit making and taking. Evidence that a constitution has been formally adopted must be supplied.
- Organisations must demonstrate that they are well run.. The initiatives in which they are seeking funding for must be inclusive, open to the whole community and adhere to democratic principles
