Calor Gas (NI): Calor Rural Community Fund
Overview
From the buzz of a beehive fully equipped for over 80 beekeepers, to the calming hues of a refurbished living room for those living with Alzhemier’s and Dementia, Calor’s Rural Community Fund has already met the needs of hundreds of people across the UK.
Over the last 4 years they’ve supported 214 community projects with over £460,000 generated through donations and Calor contributions.
What type of funding is available from Calor?
Now in the fifth year (2021) of running this amazing fund, they’re on a roll and they’re ready to give power to communities like yours with their £85,000 funding pot.
They have three levels of funding available, depending on the size of the project. They’ll be awarding 11 x £5,000 grants, 6 x £2,500 grants and 5 x £1,000 grants to the winning rural projects. All finalists who don’t win one of the main grants will still receive £500 from Calor to put towards their project initiative.

Volunteering
Each year their colleagues give back to the local community by volunteering their time. Their Start from the Heart programme allows each of them the chance to spend a day volunteering and building links to the community and each other. They have been doing this since 2011.
Charity Partnership
Calor colleagues chose their corporate charity partner, currently Mind in England & Wales, SAMH in Scotland, and they raise money for this charity through a wide range of activities like sky diving, bake sales and sponsored bike rides. Their previous charity partner was Alzheimer's Society; for which they raised over £100,000.
