Overview
The Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation is seeking applications from organisations working with people with special needs for activities to improve their ability to communicate.
The Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation will enhance the lives of those with special needs through its communications expertise, and looks to partner and build relationships with institutions that support, research, develop or implement the appropriate, specialist communication requirements
The Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation will provide assistance through project partnerships, the purchase of essential equipment or for awareness and campaigning purposes.
The term special needs is taken to apply to people with physical, mental, behavioural and/or learning problems, also the circumstances that create an exceptional situation requiring individualised educational programmes, physical accessibility or care requirements.
What is available
The Foundation is seeking applications to three programmes, for each of which there will be a single opportunity to apply in 2012:
- Apply to Engage is a non monetary application but is an opportunity for organisations to apply to the Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation to seek professional, personnel or other support from the company and use their expertise and resources to raise awareness and campaign.
- Apply for Funds is an opportunity for organisations to apply for up to £10,000 to the Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation for the funds for equipment, kit and other ‘one-off’ type applications
- Apply to Partner is an opportunity for organisations to apply to the Cable&Wireless Worldwide Foundation for over £10,000 (no budget given as to how many grants) to build a partnership and obtain funding for a specific project.
