Overview

British Airways (BA) currently supports more than 40 community and conservation charities as well as many smaller programmes working both in the UK and in the countries they fly to.

BA currently support more than 130 Community and Conservation organisations with complimentary flights, excess baggage and complimentary cargo.

They aim to support programmes across the BA route network with a particular focus on the areas of:

  • education and youth development
  • sustainable tourism
  • environment
  • heritage
  • support of staff-led projects

BA might also waive extra baggage charges for charities and offer group rates.

The programmes BA is involved in are:

  • Surfers not Street Children: based in South Africa, uses surfing to help get kids off the street and teach them valuable skills, which help give them a chance in life. Watch the video
  • The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: focuses on conservation, education of local communities and sustainable tourism
  • Haller Foundation: development of rural farmer communities, economic development through farmer training and education
  • The One Foundation: experts in water conservation
  • Dreamflight; providing the holiday of a lifetime for sick and disabled children from across the UK
