Overview
Range of Interests of the Blackburn Trust:
- The support of the family, including parenting initiatives
- Work with women
- Work with children under 16
Within this Range of Interests, the Trust will be willing to consider help with:
- Start up costs
- Training initiatives for volunteers and parents
- Purchase of equipment
- Support for groups who wish to make their services available to children with disabilities, whether learning or physical
- Making premises accessible to those with physical disability
- Provision or adaptation of space for the use of children
- Safety issues
- Testing new initiatives with parents or play development.
The Trust does not generally make grants to large voluntary organisations or where its grant would not be significant in the overall costs of the project, the priority being to assist smaller organisations
The Trust rarely makes grants of more than £1,000.00, a grant is unlikely to be made where the grant would be less than 10% of the total cost of the project. The average amount of grants is £600.
The Trust can make grants only to accepted charitable bodies.
