Belfast City Council - Festival of Learning

Open or will open again Cultural, events and festivals Education and learning Belfast City Micro (up to £1,000)

Overview

Belfast Learning Festival takes place from 9 to 13 April 2025. The festival theme in 2025 is Creating Connections.

They want to grow opportunities for residents to meet new people, discover fresh ideas and find different ways to learn in Belfast. As a UNESCO City of Learning, they want to put people at the centre of learning.

They’re inviting organisations in Belfast to support the Belfast Learning Festival by providing an event or activity.

How groups can get involved

If your group would like to host a learning event or activity, there are two ways to get involved:

  • apply for a small grant to run an event
  • submit an established learning event to the festival programme

Small grant

Constituted, not-for-profit organisations are invited to apply for a grant up to £500 to assist with the costs of scheduling an event during festival week. Funding can be used for renting space, decoration, transport, promotion and activities. Events must be open to all, free to attend and align with the 2025 festival theme, Creating Connections.

To receive an application form and guidance notes, email communityplanning@belfastcity.gov.uk.

The closing date for applications is Friday 20 December 2024 at 12 noon.

Existing event or activity

Does your organisation or group offer learning activities? Can your learning activities take place between 9 to 13 April 2025? Increase awareness by adding the details to their online festival programme.

To ask for a submission form, email belfastlearningfestival@belfastcity.gov.uk.

The closing date for completed forms is Friday 31 January 2025.
