Overview
Area Development Support Objectives
The focus of the development activity to be funded should be on some or all of the following areas:
- Increasing sales as a direct result of marketing and promotional activity; generating new customers or sustaining customer loyalty through increasing sales revenue, increasing the number of new customers or developing repeat business, increasing footfall (relevant to the area’s needs) and maximising the delivery budget.
- Enhancing the profile of the area with identified target audience with a view to stimulating economic activity.
- Supporting the sustainability of the group by developing management resources.
Funding
Constituted Business Associations can apply for funding to run a range of agreed development activities in 16/17 (Sept 16-March 2017) financial year:
- up to £3,000 without match funding;
- a further £2,000 is available from the Council if the group can provide evidence of £ for £ match funding. The maximum Council contribution is £5,000 on condition the association also makes a financial contribution of £2,000 towards the project. Evidence of match funding should be submitted with this application form.

Current Status of the Scheme
- Belfast City Council will make a decision in March/April 2017 for the format of the scheme in the 2017/2018 financial year.
