Overview
Support available:
- Barclays will match what colleagues raise for one charity/community organisation up to £1,000 (or local equivalent) for one fundraising activity each year
- There is no minimum amount colleagues need to raise to access the programme, so any funds up to £1,000 will be considered for matching
- For large-scale fundraising campaigns Barclays will match up to £50,000 (or grandfathered amount), based on a maximum of £1,000 per colleague. If an activity raises more than this amount, the matching will be pro-rated evenly between every employee that participated. This will represent his/her individual matching allowance for the year, even if the pro-rated matching amount is less than £1,000.
Activities eligible for matching:
- Sponsored activities, where colleagues raise sponsorship money to take part in a challenge (e.g., a run, walk, swim, triathlon, bike ride)
- Organising a fundraising event, where colleagues plan and run all elements (e.g., dinner dance, ball, quiz night, wine tasting, football tournament) and raise money by selling tickets to the event or through other activities taking place there
- Running activities as part of an event organised by someone else (e.g., a stall at a school fair, an auction at a charity dinner)
- Making and selling things (e.g., cakes, sweets, lunch, jewellery)
- Sourcing prizes and running a raffle (not just selling raffle tickets).
Example Grant:
- Autism Initiative Day Centre - Newcastle, Co Down - £2,000.
